Export to Lettr

Send your Topol templates to Lettr as fully editable templates.

In this tutorial, we will show you how to connect your Lettr account to Topol and export your templates directly to Lettr.

Lettr uses the same email editor as Topol, so the export sends the template's design rather than rendered HTML. The template arrives in Lettr as a standard Lettr template and remains fully editable there. This is the one way the Lettr integration differs from the others.

Get your Lettr API key

1. Log in to Lettr, or create a free account.

2. In the left panel, under Developers, click API Keys, then click the New API Key button in the top right corner:

3. Copy the key and keep it somewhere safe. You'll need it in the next step.

Connect Lettr to Topol

4. Go to the list of available integrations in Topol, find Lettr, and click Enable:

5. A modal window will appear. Enter a Name for the integration (anything works) and paste the API key from Lettr. Confirm by clicking the Enable integration button:

The Lettr integration is now active.

Export a template to Lettr

6. Open the template and pick your Lettr integration from the export option:

7. A modal window will appear with two fields:

  1. Purpose: Lettr keeps campaign and transactional templates in two separate modules, and every template belongs to one of them. Choose Campaign for marketing emails such as newsletters, or Transactional for automated emails such as order confirmations and password resets. Campaign is selected by default.

  2. Folder: the list shows the Lettr folders for the selected purpose, with the first one preselected. Switching the purpose reloads the list.

8. Click Export. Once the template is in Lettr, a confirmation appears with an Open in Lettr button that leads to the list it landed in.

Export several templates at once

Select the templates on the templates page, open the actions menu, and click Export to Lettr. The same Purpose and Folder fields apply, and all selected templates land in that one folder. Up to 100 templates can go in a single run; a progress bar tracks the export and reports how many templates arrived in Lettr.
